In summary,
The latest government statistics show that there were 80,000 unemployed graduates in the country last year.
more than 50,000 of the unemployed are certificate and diploma holders (assuming these are not at the post­graduate levels), rightfully they should be classed as non-graduates.
less than 30,000 "real" graduates who are unemployed
the majority are from the fields of: 1. Business Administration (19,000)2. Computer & IT (9,500)3. Engineering (7,500) There were 80,000 unemployed graduates nationwide (Source: NST February 22, 2005 – Public Services Commission) as reported by the Public Services Commission in February 2005 but this number was reduced to 18,072 (Source: NST May 18, 2005 p.20) when a report was submitted to the Dewan Rakyat by Deputy Human Resources Minister, Datuk Abdul Rahman Bakar.
